My book: the falling stars

Once upon a time there was a girl and her dog. The girl’s name was Lilya and the dog’s name was tug. One day tug the dog wandered off. Lilya didn’t really care because he would always come back. Normally he would find something interesting. Fifteen minutes later he came back he was barking lots then he turned around and motioned her to come.

He probably wants me to follow me, she thought. He ran through the trees fast and they could see something glowing. ‘What is that’ said lilya they slowly creeped closer.

Lily a gasped it was a star she picked it up and put it in her backpack. tug looked up to the sky it was getting dark. They lit a fire and snuggled up under a tree. The next morning they woke up early. lily studded the stars then she remembered it was matariki there were eight bright stars.

wait said lilya where’s the ninth star then she realized that it was in her bag.

‘I must return the star to the  sky’ said lilya everyone will be so worried that there is only eight stars up there but how will I do it?  Maybe I can throw it up there she thought. She tried and tried and tried but it did not work. Then she had a great idea: I can build a catapult. But first she ran home and told her mom her mom had been really worried.

Lily said that she really needed some building tools her mom helped her find some wood to. Then together they built a catapult. Lily pulled the star out of her bag. O woll said  mum you’re holding a star! Lily put it into the catapult then they tried to be right under the matariki stars. Finally they blasted the star up to the sky.’ By little star’ said lily. Her and mum walked home slowly

And lilya went to bed.

Goodnight.

Letter to self

Dear Piper

I am good at art, sport and acting. I find math and football difficult. I am looking forward to choir and Christmas. My favourite subject at school is reading. I would like to learn more about maths as I find this difficult. My goal is to get better at swimming and I will reach my goals by learning, listening and practising. I enjoy seeing my friends at school and dislike hard homework.

Kind Regards

Piper

What is Kawa of Care ?

Did you know that you need to look after your chome book when you are using it?

Kawa of Care teaches us how we look after our chrome books and how to use it. It is an agreement between ākonga, whānau and kura.

I made a comic strip to show you three things you can do to make sure your chrome book is looked after when you are learning.

Now I hope you know what kawa of care means

Taking Action for my Tinana

I’ve been learning how to take care of my tinana. I have made an action calendar to help me keep my tinana strong.

I really like that I had paper and computer mahi. I learned that you need to take care of your tinana because if you don’t you will not grow very well or be happy.
